Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn River Camp, one week starting June 23 2008 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM New River, VA Take an adventure of a lifetime exploring the New River in a verity of water crafts. Montgomery County, VA has teamed up with Tangent Outfitters for this fun filled camp. Exploration will be the theme of the week as we discover new and exciting elements the New River has to offer. During this camp you will travel on Rec kayaks, canoes, and rafts. No experience is required for this fun and adventures week on the water. We will be floating on some of the rivers most remote locations of the upper New River. A first class healthy meal will be served each day of the camp with professional staff, this camp is top notch. Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing Not just rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, rappelling, caving, ropes course, climbing wall, 900' zip, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, whitewater rafting, and environmental education right here in Virginia, but some of the camps for teens take place in Puerto Rico, Alaska, Vietnam, and Minnesota's Boundary Waters. New River Gorge and Sommersville Lake, WV

Aren't you lucky you're near the New River Gorge? 1,400 established sport and trad climbs and quite a few bouldering sites as well with great climbing instructors and outfitters in nearby Fayetteville. Need we say more? OK, maybe.

Waterstone Outdoors is an outfitter in Fayetteville that has published a wonderful bouldering guide of the area, Sketches, with routes superimposed over photographs, so you don't have to spend 30 minutes just interpreting the description. Their website also has a helpful list of routes, campgrounds and area climbing events. Staff recommended
